Gemini AI, "thinks more Carefully"

Gemini is the newest AI model integrated into Google's Bard AI, which will use Audio, Video, Code and Images as inputs and spin out amazing results using its powerful Artificial Intelligence Algorithms. Complex tasks like Algebraic reasoning in Mathematics and Understanding research papers in theoretical Physics is a possibility with Gemini AI with the help of its multimodal capabilities. Now it will be able to produce usable code in various programming languages as well.

Google Bard just got a little bit better.

Google claims new Gemini AI thinks more carefully

  • Google's Gemini: Google's new AI model, Gemini, is said to outperform ChatGPT in most tests and will soon be integrated into various Google products, including search.
  • AI in the workplace: A Fortune Magazine report found that nearly 60% of workers who use AI in their jobs would rather take a 10% pay cut than go without it.
  • AI clones: The rise of AI-powered clones will it possible for them learn your habits and behaviours to perform mundane tasks on your behalf.
  • Malign chatbots: Scientific American raises concerns about malicious chatbots that have been trained to bypass security restrictions and access sensitive information.
  • Virtual reality meetings: The New Scientist warns that AI can now analyse subtle hand movements in virtual reality meetings, potentially revealing sensitive information like passwords.
  • Regulation: Legislators in the US and Europe are struggling to keep up with the rapid pace of AI development, making it difficult to regulate the technology effectively.

Need of Regulation for the Advancement of AI Technologies

The ethical implications of these advancements and the need for careful regulation.

  • AI is developing rapidly, outpacing current regulatory efforts.
  • AI is becoming increasingly integrated into our lives, both at work and in our personal lives.
  • There are potential risks associated with AI, such as the misuse of personal information and the development of malicious chatbots.
  • It is important to be aware of these risks and to take steps to mitigate them.

Is Google Ready to be Leading the AI advancement Race?

Google has released Gemini, a family of large language models, to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Microsoft's AI-powered services.

The three versions of Gemini are:
    Pro: Competes with OpenAI's GPT-3.5.
Nano: Can run on mobile devices and competes with systems like LLaMa 2.
Ultra: Aiming to match or leapfrog OpenAI's GPT-4.

Google has advantages in distribution (Gemini will be added to Chrome) and uncertainty surrounding OpenAI.

Key areas of potential future development for Gemini include:
Multimodality: Understanding text, images, video, and audio.
Reasoning and planning: Enabling complex problem-solving and agent-based actions (e.g., shopping agents).

Google is entering the race for generative AI with its Gemini models. Gemini is designed to be more useful than existing models by understanding multiple modalities and having reasoning/planning capabilities. Google has advantages in distribution and hopes to capitalize on uncertainty surrounding OpenAI. The next big AI breakthrough may involve creating agents that can take action on users' behalf.

Uncertainties:
Google is always on optimistic endeavours and rarely they're held back by any premonition but any market analysis is bound to spit out some uncertainties. Here are a few which Google might be dealing with,

  • Whether Gemini can make a meaningful difference to Google's existing services.
  • Whether Google can achieve the technical superiority it claims for Gemini.
  • What specific applications will emerge from Gemini's capabilities.

Reports have already been suggesting that few of the demos presented by Google in the key notes and their Youtube videos might be faked. Specially the demo regarding the video as the input method for Gemini AI.

In the demo, Gemini AI multimodal in Google Bard is successfully recognizing a video of rock, paper, scissors signs shown in front of the camera. Users on the internet have reported that to be not as accurate as presented in the video.

Perhaps Google was giving us a little taste of what's to come. It could be tuned up and be even better by the time of official integration of Gemini AI into the Google Bard in the beginning of the next year.

Google is focused on building new AI tools and enhancing the capabilities of existing tools and products. NotebookLM is one of those amazing AI tools which is available to users in USA right now. NotebookLM is used to be called Project Tailwind is able to create detailed summaries and will help with more than your homework.
